No Pride in War

We stand with pride and:

Stick our tongues out to a system that insists upon dividing us, based on who we fall in love with and how we express our gender and sexual identity.

Stick our tongues out to Trump-inspired absurd ideologies of the «woke agenda» , that have crossed from the other side of the Atlantic ocean. Against a system that uses chromosomes as an excuse to target and cast aside intersex and trans people. That forbids trans people the ability to exist and live in a public space with safety. That ignores the violence against LGBTQ+ bodies. Ignores the violence on our bodies.

Stick our tongues out to a system that, for the interests of the few, tries to plunge the world into war, even by the use of nuclear power. This is why entire societies get fear-mongered into a militaristic mindset and an unhealthy obsession with military preparation. It trains people to perpetuate toxic masculinity. It glorifies physical strength and body perfectionism. The «national pride». The birth of human warriors, that are willing to die for patriotic values and ideals of the nation. Ensures the social elimination for all of us that don’t belong in their militaristic and patriotic, tailored boxes. For the lesbians, trans, and genderqueer people, for the disabled people, for immigrants, for Roma people, for neurodivergents, for the users, for our gay comrades. For each and everyone of us that don’t wish to become baby machines and provide our uterus to their warmongering plans. For all of us that are considered unnecessary in society, and go against the current wave of war glorification.

Stick our tongues out to a system that is heading straight for a full out war. That is spending countless euros to produce weapons, bombs, rockets, warships and warplanes. We know that our bodies, and the bodies of our brothers, sisters and siblings, are the powder that will ignite their cannons. It’s our bodies that will have to conform to fit in their «idealized» stereotypic boxes. And the ones that will refuse to conform will face cruel violence. It’s our bodies that will be buried under the rabbles and their expensive bombs. It’s their war frenzy that will lead to rivers of refugees getting expelled from their homelands.

Stick our tongues out to the government of «our country» that gets us involved deeper and deeper into this war only for the interests of oil companies, shipowners, and weapon manufacturers. It maintains bases, endangering the population of an entire country. Maintains bases, from which ships and airplanes start to murder people like us, thousand of kilometres away. It chooses to fund a possible «upcoming» war of Greece against Turkey and gets involved in wars that are already happening, while it refuses to fund the structures of free education and public healthcare, dorms for domestic abuse victims, nursing homes and nurseries. It chooses death instead of life.

Stick our tongues out to a government that isn’t ashamed to collaborate and make allies with genocidal people. With those that bring calamity and war to the entirety planet. With those that bomb neighbourhoods, schools and hospitals. With those that let people in Palestine die from lack of food, water and basic medicine. That are against a Palestine that finds the strength and resists. And as they resist we refuse to become the «pink washing machine» that will absolve them of genocide. We raise high our «No» to the use of our names.

Stick our tongues out at the capitalization of our own existence. At the attempt to make Pride into a sponsored exhibition when it used to be about revolution and protests. We don’t forget: that Pride began as a riot, a fight, a revolution for liberation. We reject the implantation of a system that absolves companies, embassies, and international organizations of their crimes. We reject support from the same people that at the same time are complicit in wars, displacements and murders of civilizations and LGBTQ+ individuals. We will not participate in their «pink washing» campaigns.

Stick our tongues out to whomever provides us with crumbs instead of actual change that will revolutionarily reform our lives. That refuses to put an end to discrimination in the workplace, healthcare and education. That doesn’t protect us from wrongful terminations, poverty and violence. We’re very aware that whatever was «given» to us was actually conquered. And only if we keep going can we win more.

Stick our tongues out to a system that profits off our bodies. Produces cookies from the blood of female workers. Neglects the safety and hygiene conditions in the workplace. Exhausts us with cruelty from one task to another. Fires us when we get pregnant. Limits our right to self determination when it comes to our own bodies. Pushes our country to militarization, through drafting calls, targeting all gender identities. And we all know very well how a militaristic society treats women’s, feminine and LGBTQ+ bodies. With brutal and raw violence. It femicides us. It murders us at the borders. Feeds us with leftover crumbs from the upper class. Trains us to be okay with just surviving. To live off with coupons. In every aspect of our lives. But surviving isn’t enough for us. We fight for a chance at life, a life that is day by day taken from us.

Stick our tongues out against the fascist roots of the system. A fascist system that has taken a hold of many, (mostly) European governments. Governments that are threatening to push the world back to dark ages. Ages that should have stayed forever buried in the past.

Stick our tongues out to everyone that tries to create societies we’re not to be a part of.

Stick our tongues out to their old rotten worlds. To conservatism that wants us to be invisible and scared. To neoliberal rightism, that tries to conform us without considering the exploitation. We don’t choose sides between oppressors. We stand with the oppressed. With international solidarity to our comrades in Iran, Lebanon, Cuba and Palestine.

We organize our collective reactions. We look past, the made up borders that divide us from people that share the same common needs, and dreams. A divide orchestrated by the 1% with the aim of social emancipation. A fight we must share cause it stems from the same oppressor.

We fight to live with dignity. We realize the strength that our collective voice has against sexism, homophobia, transphobia, and war. We, the LGBTQ+ and transfemine movement, realize we are a crucial part of the anti-war movement. We use our bodies as the barrier and scream with pride:

We choose a world that includes and takes care of everyone.

We choose life. With all of its colours.
